SOUTH KOREAN DOMESTIC POLITICS: Hahn Hwa-gap quits his post as chairman of President Roh Moo-hyun's Millennium Democratic Party (MDP). This is not unexpected because Hahn led a MDP party revolt against Roh's candidacy during the election campaign.
