I JUST READ (AND ENJOYED) WILLIAM GIBSON'S PATTERN RECOGNITION RECENTLY. And while this is a far cry from the mysterious "footage" that entranced the characters in the book, it is a reminder of how much closer we are to this kind of technology and society than we might think.
