UPDATE II: William Saletan makes what is to me a strange and untenable case that Gore's call for every vote to be counted in Florida means that Gore shouldn't call for Democrats to stick together and endorse Dean.
Former vice president Al Gore plans to endorse Howard Dean for president today, according to Democratic sources, giving the insurgent candidate the kind of establishment backing his campaign has been lacking.What I find curious is why anyone should care who Al Gore endorses?
